Planning for my Music Video

 Crazy in Love

Props:

We are unsure if any props will be used in the video, however it is likely that there will be a car.

Costumes:

• Extravagant attire
• Long fancy dresses
• Heels
• Lavish jewelry
• Handbag
• Reckless attire
• Shorts
• Sneakers

Schedule:

• December  3rd, 2021 - our group will be filming the film the parts of our video that require a formal attire and glamorous makeup
• December 4th ,2021- our group will be filming the film the parts of our video that have the more hip, street fashion style and edgy look
• December 7th ,2021- our group will be sorting through which videos to keep and which to delete. Then edit  the two days of filming together through various cuts.
• December 9th ,2021- our group will be editing the connected clips together in a cohesive fashion, and edit the quality and filter of the film

Location:

The sole location of the music video will be in Las Olas, Fort Lauderdale. We will be filming directly on Las Olas Boulevard as well as surrounding locations like the riverwalk.

Backup Plan:

• If something goes wrong with the costumes we will have extra clothes for everything, and there are multiple outfit changes regardless
• If there is questionable weather that day we will try and film on another day. However, if this isn't possible we will film strictly inside of building or inside of The WaterGarden Condominiums.

Research Blog: Music Video Conventions

Our group is doing the song Crazy in Love by Beyoncé. We watched the music video for this song, other Beyonce songs, and songs that capture the same party genre we were going for. After conducting this research we knew what ideas to input in our music video.

• When discussing costumes we knew we wanted to be in formal, lavish dresses, for part of the song. However for another part Janiya would be dancing and wear a "hip" outfit, for the outfit changes in the video.
• There are not many specific props used in the music video, just very fitting outfit changes, so that is what will be done.
• The appearance is a very cool, fashion killer type of look, and make up if on point, very fierce and sensual 
• There are many zoom shots throughout the video, randomly in and out.
• Tracking shots are utilized in the beginning when introducing Beyonce.
• The video mostly consists of medium or medium long shots, there are also a lot of medium close ups and close ups to frame the star.
• The video is full of cross cutting, scenes that are constantly jumping between each other to keep pace with the energy of the song
• The lighting throughout is very dark but in a club scene kind of way, making it feel like a very cool night life
• Eye level shots are used for the majority, making it feel like Beyonce is starring you down, asserting her place
• Low angles are used a lot during dance numbers
  

WE ARE BACK!

 My group is consisted of three individuals, Janiya, Riana, and myself. Janiya, Riana, and I have collectively decided on being a group again as we all know that we worked together skillfully on our commercial. With having multiple people in our group, it gains a variety of perspectives for the project. We believe that working as a team is better than working alone. I however enjoy working with them because they always construct many creative ideas. We have started to conduct multiple ideas for our music video as we are thrilled to start filming. Conducting them from the start gives us a strong basis to work with and expand on. Some songs we have in mind are Deuces by Chris Brown, Take Care by Rihanna, or Bottoms Up by Trey Songz. By doing this we will not have to rely on procrastination for ideas. Assigning roles is also key in our group. By knowing who will do what, we can devise strategic plans to continue our productivity. Raina will be handling editing, Janiya will be organizing the props, and I plan to focus on filming the music video. Since working together on the commercial we all grew immensely in a variety of areas. Sticking with this group will allow us to continue to develop in our media skills even more. I am very excited to begin this next adventure with my classmates. With our diverse skills and mindsets we can achieve our goal to succeed in our music video. Our progression from the commercial shows we are able to do anything we put our minds too. I am so thrilled to work with such loving individuals again. There will be no slack cause, WE ARE BACK! Let the show begin.

ME AGAIN!

My name is Faith Folkes and I am a Junior at Fort Lauderdale High School. Media Studies was a class I found an interest in because of the high technology use required. As a person invested into our 21st century technology, the idea of learning new aspects of it, sparked a fire within me. As a student who will embark on their career journey soon, studying a variety of professions keeps me open minded to what might come my way. Through Media Studies I aspire to learn how to make aesthetically pleasing visuals for audiences. I enjoy journaling my life through video to see progression and improvements. Inspiring motivational videos always make me feel invincible and encouraged. I am also excited to go through the process of producing film to gain a first person point of view on how the experience is. I know it is very difficult to be a creator in the film world. Being able to share slightly similar experiences to film professionals will be very knowledgeable to me. Furthermore, I am excited to soak up understanding from my teachers and establish great relationships with them. Throughout this experience I know they will be my back bone and I am ready to conquer the road ahead. As for progression, my expectations for myself are to stay productive, determined, and upbeat. I know having a great attitude towards a goal will be the best thing for myself as I do not want to induce additional stress upon me. As for the ending result of this project, I expect myself to be happy with what I accomplished. I plan to carry what I learn into my life by journaling. I would also love to utilize what I master to instruct others. In all, I am ready to learn about all the aspects of media and film. I know this class will be beneficial. Who knows what this might lead too?
